MacDermid ColorSpan Announces New Inks for DisplayMaker

Press release from the issuing company

Minneapolis, MN, - MacDermid ColorSpan, Inc., a leader in the wide-format digital color printer market, has broadened its DisplayMaker line's applications in indoor, outdoor and fine art with the introduction of new inks for the DisplayMaker Mach 12, Series XII and Esprit wide-format inkjet printers. PermaChrome Pigmented Ink for the DisplayMaker Mach 12 UV-stable and archival quality PermaChrome Pigmented Inks are now available for the DisplayMaker Mach 12 printer. These inks can be configured as one or two sets of 4-color (CMYK) or 6-color (C2M2YK). Or, using ColorSpan's unique AutoInk™ feature the Mach 12 can be set up to print with either EnduraChrome dye or PermaChrome pigmented ink without user intervention. PermaChrome Pigmented Inks are used for long-lasting outdoor applications with ColorMark branded media such as WaterFast Banner Vinyl, PermaChrome WaterFast Vinyl, Cotton Poplin Banner and Polyester Poplin Banner, or, for archival-quality fine art applications on a variety of watercolor papers and canvas products. The price of the PermaChrome is 15% lower than the price previously announced. A 960 ml PermaChrome Ink Module now has a MSRP of just $399, which equates to a running cost of approximately $0.50 / square foot in 4-color Economy mode and $0.75 in 6-color HiRes mode when printing high coverage photographic images. EnduraChrome Light Cyan and Light Magenta Ink for the DisplayMaker Mach 12 The addition of these inks to the current 6-color EnduraChrome set allows customers to expand the level of quality that they are able to print with the DisplayMaker Mach 12. These Light Density inks, as part of an 8-color (C3M3YK) ink set add incredible detail to the midtone and highlight areas of images and also create smoother gradations. Using this mode the printer achieves an apparent resolutions of 1800 dpi. Multi-Density Monochrome & Medium Blue Ink for DisplayMaker Series XII & Esprit This new set of four multi-density inks represents an unprecedented method of producing high-quality, high-contrast black and white images with incredible detail and smoothness. Up to three sets of the four monochrome inks can be configured for higher speed printing. Or, a single set of four monochrome inks can be combined with the 8-color (C3M3YK) ink set for producing vibrant, full color images or incredibly smooth and detailed black and white images without changing inks. In addition, a new medium-density blue EnduraChrome ink is available for the DisplayMaker Series XII and Esprit printers to add to the existing "beyond CMYK", expanded-gamut process color inks of Orange, Green, Red and Blue. The addition of the medium blue compliments the full strength Blue to provide smoother gradations and better detail in the blue areas of images. The result is two ultimate 12-color inks sets of C2M2YK2ORGB2, which provides maximum color gamut while providing good detail and smoothness in gradations, or C3M3 YK2OB2 configuration which benefits from the expanded gamut while producing excellent image detail.
