LONGWOOD, Fl., September 24th, 2001 –WAVE Corporation, an engineering and software development company, today announced the release of MediaBank and Intersep OPI version 2.8. "Our continued development of the industries most value rich digital asset management product coupled with our superior support offering solidifies MediaBank’s position as the industry’s most widely used digital asset management tool for printing and publishing," said Ward Wright, managing partner of WAVE Corporation. Notable among 2.8 features and enhancements include: Enhanced Job Jacket Tree Structure; Client and Server version matching; ability to change user without exiting the client; additional API's; improved thumbnail/preview quality and control; improved viewfile/lowres quality and control; enhanced security through IP; support for Solaris 8, Helios 2.6, SQL 2000, PDF 1.4, and Legato 6; Persona/Pageflex Plugin; enhancements to imslpn, and many other feature requests submitted from the customer base. "MediaBank 2.8 provides significant improvements in performance and usability for our customers," said Dan Macaluso, WAVE’s Director of Engineering. "We are now developing the next two major releases, 2.9 and 3.0. MediaBank 2.9 will include the ability to catalog files much faster, support for Quark 5.0, and drag and drop for Quark from Windows platforms. MediaBank 3.0 will include an XML Server (including Importing, Exporting and Migration), a new Java Web interface, and a native OS X client. Additionally, we will incorporate on-line proofing and mark-up capabilities." "Our focus with MediaBank has been to provide stability with frequent and substantial enhancements," Macaluso continued. "Our development efforts are driven by our customer’s needs and industry standards. We consistently see others in the space re-direct sales efforts by repackaging products, adding marketing hype and then offering so-called "new" solutions. Our large worldwide installed base requires that we continue to add functionality to tested and proven products. We invite companies unsatisfied with their current Asset Management application and/or support to consider the many advantages of the new MediaBank.
