CreoScitex to Enable Global Customer Relationship Management With mySAP.com

Press release from the issuing company

WALLDORF, Germany & VANCOUVER, British Columbia- Sept. 19, 2001-- SAP AG and CreoScitex, a division of Creo Products Inc., today announced that CreoScitex will implement the newest version of mySAP(TM) Customer Relationship Management (mySAP CRM) across its worldwide network of more than 30 offices. mySAP CRM will streamline the flow of information throughout the company, enabling its 4,000 employees to provide enhanced customer service for a line of approximately 300 products for the digital prepress and printing industry. The new CRM solution will allow CreoScitex to integrate several information systems used around the world to deploy technicians, equipment and parts. In April 2000, the prepress assets of Scitex Corporation Ltd. and Creo Products Inc. were merged to create CreoScitex, the global leader in developing digital imaging solutions for the digital prepress and printing markets. Faced with the task of merging two companies and several information systems, CreoScitex conducted a competitive comparison of CRM solutions. The company based the search for a CRM solution on its ability to overcome the obstacles inherent in the legacy systems and to allow easy collaboration within the company and with customers andbusiness partners. CreoScitex wanted an integrated CRM solution that would enable its field service and sales organizations to significantly broaden the range of services to their customers. CreoScitex found that SAP offered the best solution to meet its global CRM needs and has begun implementing mySAP CRM and other mySAP.com solutions. In addition to mySAP CRM, CreoScitex will implement mySAP(TM) Supply Chain Management (mySAP SCM), mySAP(TM) Financials, mySAP(TM) Product Lifecycle Management (mySAP PLM), mySAP(TM) Business Intelligence (mySAP BI) and an SAP enterprise portal solution. The company expects to complete most of its SAP implementation by the end of calendar year 2002. The implementation will link the entire company, including three manufacturing sites, five global distribution centers and more than 30 offices in 27 countries. The success of CreoScitex depends on its ability to deliver and service state-of-the-art digital prepress systems to its customers and to share business and customer information openly among its geographically distributed employee base. The capability of mySAP SCM was of particular importance to CreoScitex to enhance the company's ability to revise global supply chain processes and to enable collaborative procurement, manufacturing and fulfillment capabilities among vendors, manufacturing plants, distribution units, dealers and strategic partners. "The needs of CreoScitex are similar to those of many global organizations,'' said Carol Burch, senior vice president of Global Business Development Customer Relationship Management at SAP AG. "CreoScitex needed global, world-class CRM functionality as well as an open solution as part of an integrated e-business suite. mySAP CRM will provide CreoScitex with a unique customer-oriented advantage in a very competitive market.'' "mySAP CRM and the SAP Canada team answered CreoScitex's checklist of must-haves and then added an impressive list of additional functions, including interaction, mobile sales and service management capabilities,'' said Peter Blackmore, managing director of SAP Canada Inc. "This gives CreoScitex the collaborative and integrated solution it needs to meet its business and customer needs.''
