CHICAGO, September 6, 2001 - Oce, a global leader in digital document management and delivery technology, today previewed at the PRINT 01 trade show an on-demand cover binder that fills the growing need for integrated, high-speed, high-quality binding production in centralized printing departments, service bureaus and commercial printers. The Oce DFS10 is a highly-automatic and versatile binding system designed to operate at the full production speed of the 6000 PPH Oce DPS400 digital printing system, providing seamless production efficiencies from the start to the end of a production run. The Oce DFS10 binds up to 240 pages of information with a perfect-bound cover. Covers can be customized with customer logos, die-cuts, or other special effects. Two cover input trays can be refilled on the fly without interrupting the production process while special size sensors in the machine automatically detect the cover size required. For maximum versatility in a production environment, the Oce DFS10 can also be used in an off-line configuration, using either the input trays or the manual feeder. "The Oce DPS400 has been designed to give our customers increased flexibility and control over the management of complex documents in high-volume environments," noted Wendell L. Wilson, group vice president of the Oce Document Printing Systems strategic business unit. "The addition of the Oce DFS10 on-line binding option to this system demonstrates once again Oce's focus of providing solutions that improve the productivity performance of our high-volume customers."
