Thursday, October 02, 2008

Press release from the issuing company

HAINBURG (Germany)/MINNEAPOLIS MN, October 1, 2008 – CGS Publishing Technologies International, the global leader of color management solutions, digital proofing solutions and specially-formulated media, is pleased to announce IntegraColor has selected ORIS Color Tuner Pro, ORIS Certified Proof, ORIS InkSaver, ORIS PressMatcher and ORIS PearlPROOF Super paper as the core technology to implement GRACoL.

IntegraColor is a full service printer located in Mesquite, Texas providing prepress, finishing, fulfillment and Internet-based supply chain management supporting 6 different printing processes. It has 39 presses including one of the world's largest presses, the KBA UV 81-inch 5-color sheet-fed press. IntegraColor offers 6 different printing processes including UV, conventional sheet-fed, digital, screen, web and flexographic. IntegraColor produces a variety of work including general commercial, point-of-purchase, collateral and curriculum materials. They are specialists in printing on plastic.

"More than six months ago we made a decision to adopt digital proofing and a new color standard based on the introduction of the GRACoL color standard and the improvements made in inkjet technology. The color system we were using was based on the Kodak MatchPrint analog and digital proofing systems," stated Dan Eggers, Director of Digital Printing. "When we heard this analog proofing system would no longer be available, which was the core of our color management solution, our need to find a new solution became a higher priority. We started doing research to select a new color standard and digital proofing solution which was best suited to the variety of printing we do. We selected GRACoL as our new color standard and ORIS as the digital proofing technology to help us make the transition."

CGS has installed and integrated the following ORIS solutions to implement IntegraColor's new color management system. ORIS Color Tuner Pro, driving Epson 9880 inkjet printers, which provides powerful color management tools to match to the GRACoL color space insuring highly consistent color matching between multiple local and remote Epson printers. ORIS PressMatcher manages color across all printing presses and insures consistent results on offset and digital presses as well as wide format inkjet printers. ORIS Certified Proof provides IntegraColor customers with proofs which are certified to the GRACoL color space. The certification of each proof is verified by a label affixed to the proof. ORIS InkSaver provides automated and enhanced GCR/UCR which optimizes ink utilization resulting in reduced press make-ready and less time to coming up to color. ORIS PearlProof Super Professional Proofing Media which provides consistent color matching to the GRACoL color space. The LAB of the media is set to the GRACoL standard.

Steve Pfeffer, Director of Sales, CGS USA, commenting on the solutions deployed at IntegraColor stated: "We listened to their color management objectives and analyzed the internal workflow in order to recommend a solution utilizing specific ORIS technology to achieve IntegraColor's objectives. We are pleased to have a company the caliber of IntegraColor part of the CGS family."

Dan Eggers went on to say: "We looked at many different color management solutions as part of our project to adopt the GRACoL standard in our printing facility. ORIS was the only solution we found that could deliver consistent color across the 6 different printing processes we utilize at IntegraColor. Adopting this color standard is a major undertaking with 35 presses. We needed a solution that could match color on all presses. Proofing and color management solutions are part of adopting a new color standard. CGS has been an excellent partner in the process."
