Roland Introduces Desktop Printer/Cutter

Irvine, CA, September 6, 2001 After six years of thermal transfer printing and cutting experience, Roland DGA Corporation brings the technology to the desktop. Compatible with both Macs and PCs, the new ColorCAMM PC-12 prints photo-realistic graphics and contour cuts them with precision. The PC-12 enables designers, retailers, restaurants and other in-house users to produce short-run labels, nametags, decals, POP displays, vehicle graphics and recognition products. It also prints heat transfers for hats and tee shirts. “For printing and cutting graphics, the ColorCAMM PC-12 is the most versatile desktop machine on the market,” said Jim Day, Roland Product Manager. “Up to 12 inches wide, this fifth generation printer/cutter produces extraordinary graphics. It’s so easy and affordable, anyone can do it.” Resin inks include CMYK, red, blue, white, gold and silver. They are scratch-, water- and UV-resistant without lamination. Wax inks include gold and silver foils and clear gloss finishing ribbon. Using wax inks, the PC-12 can print photo-realistic output at 1200 dpi in variable-dot mode. The ColorCAMM PRO PC-60 and PC-600 are wide-format, print-for-pay machines designed for signmakers, graphic designers and screenprinters wanting to expand their business with short-run stickers, labels, posters, signs, P.O.P. creations and heat transfers for garments. ColorChoice Software Every PC-12 ships with a special desktop version of Roland ColorChoice. The software provides a powerful RIP for cutting and output functions. It lets users print directly from Corel DRAW and Adobe Illustrator. ColorChoice includes ICC profiles for Roland media and ribbon cartridges to ensure perfect color output every time. The ColorCAMM PC-12 has a list price of $4,995. Leasing options are available for all Roland products.
