AB Dick, Rhemai Merge, Also Moves European Distribution Center To London

CHICAGO, IL -- A.B.Dick Company announced today it has merged its Holland and Belgium subsidiaries with Rhemai. The new companies, now called A.B.Dick AM Graphic and AM Graphidec will continue to handle all sales and service operations for Holland and Belgium out of its office in Rijswijk, Holland and Brussels, Belgium. In a joint statement, International managing directors Quen Baum and Ger Middendorp said, "The merger of these two companies will strengthen our efforts in the European marketplace. It makes us a more effective and efficient organization, and distribution for our customers throughout Europe will now be much quicker and easier." Rhemai is a former subsidiary of A.M. Multigraphics, which was purchased by A.B.Dick parent company Paragon Corporate Holdings, Inc. last year. Rhemai has been in business since 1962 and employs 70. The company is based in Rijswijk, Holland. In a related international decision, A.B.Dick has moved its distribution center from Maarssen, Holland to London, England. "Upon examining the effectiveness of our operations, it was determined the majority of our products were being shipped to England," said Ken Newton, Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer - Equipment. "London makes sense across the board. It gives us tremendous flexibility and visibility, and transportation to any other major city in Europe can easily be effected from this location. We are confident this move is in the best interests of our present and future customers."
