Impostrip 6.5 includes new features for PDF output, interactive marks preview, plate concept, hot folder automation, automated job ganging and wide support for different workflow. New Features in Impostrip 6.5 PDF Output Impostrip was the first imposition product to impose PDF as an input format, now it outputs a native PDF plate with all pages and marks in PDF without converting it to PostScript. Combine PDF, PS and Tiff pages Impostrip converts PDF to PS if the user wants to combine PDF pages and PS pages on the same plate. Impostrip has the widest range of input of any imposition software of different PostScript pages in separated or composite format, EPS, PDF and Tiff. Interactive Marks Preview New with Impostrip 6.0, users will be able to interactively preview and adjust marks on pages as well as on the plate. Impostrip uses Plate concept making it even easier to use with CTP workflows. Impostrip’s Plate Preview rips a low-resolution version of the file to the screen to see actual preview and do the final step in preflighting the plate before output. Improved Plate Concept Impostrip now allows the user to specify a plate as well as a press size. Plate dimensions and press paper offsets in relation to the plate can be entered directly on-screen. Marks can also be added anywhere on the plate. Hot Folder Driven Automation Impostrip is the only imposition software to be hot folder driven for complete automation of repetitive imposition jobs. The user can queue the job to the hot folder and let the Signature Server do the job, in background on a single computer and over the network in a Server environment. Hot Folder automation combined with true client-server imposition definitely keeps Impostrip ahead of its class. Support for Apogee and Printergy Impostrip 6.5 adds support for Agfa’s Apogee and CreoScitex’s Printergy systems along with its support of the CreoScitex Brisque, allowing users to integrate Impostrip as their imposition tool of choice to add speed and flexibility to their existing workflow server. Interactive Job Ganging Impostrip 6.5 includes the new 2.0 version of Full Plate. The new Full Plate includes automated PDF and PostScript Hot Folder workflow to g scatter proof or to gang pages with Impostrip signature files. The user can fill a plate to optimize equipment and minimize paper and ink usage. Full Plate offers instant feedback, integrated viewing and document placement tools to insure that every square inch of plate and paper can be used. Version 2.0 allows users to intervene manually with the plate on screen to add jobs or move images as desired with 100% precision using X-Y coordinates. Full Plate offers the necessary tools to handle the most complex jobs including: previewing and preflighting, document rotation, cropping, step and repeat, viewing in duplex mode and best fit automation. Impostrip 6.5 new features are pooled with Impostrip 6.0 unique enhancements: Unlimited Client/Server Architecture Only Impostrip offers true client/server architecture permitting the file processing to be done on a network server where the files reside and freeing up the imposition workstation to continue with new jobs. Impostrip has unlimited clients on Mac or Windows working over a network with Signature Server on a Mac or Windows server. Origami Impostrip’s Virtual Press Sheet folding tool is completely integrated into the application. Orientation and sequence are automatically calculated and applied. With an interactive folding history, Origami allows users to re-use existing templates and create new folds. Only Impostrip and Origami automate the creation of signatures, including special folding patterns, cut and combine, and multiple deliveries for sheetfed and multiple web presses. Automatic Tiling Impostrip will automatically tile to "Best Fit" the size of the output media. Impostrip’s automatic tiling feature is also available when the output is scaled down, e.g. in the case of proofing to a smaller media size, and Impostrip will preserve the tiling dimensions effectively emulating the final output device. Punch Control Impostrip will keep up to 16 different punch settings, storing a user-defined name with each setting. Punch Control is based on maximum media size, tiling sizes for mirrored and non-mirrored media, as well as a calibration to offset the image if necessary and dimensions for the punch frame. Impostrip’s Punch Control is the most advanced available today. Complete Support for CIP4 First again to support CIP3 with version 5.0, Impostrip is still the only imposition software that gives complete support for PPF, which means folding, cutting and inking preset data for bindery and press equipment.
