Imation Intros Direct-To-Paper Proofing System at PRINT

Press release from the issuing company

OAKDALE, Minn. (September 6, 2001) Demonstrating its leadership in digital proofing, Imation Corp. (NYSE:IMN) today introduced its Imation Matchprint Digital Halftone DtP (Direct-to-Paper) Proofing system. The system allows users to image a digital halftone proof directly onto four different popular printing stocks reducing costly waste and saving time, while giving printers, prepress shops and their clients a more accurate representation of the printed piece. Expected to be commercialized in first quarter of 2002, Imation will demonstrate its direct-to-paper proofing system at booth #5805 at Print 01 trade show, at Chicago's McCormick Place, September 6 ? 13, 2001. The Imation Matchprint Digital Halftone DtP system lets customers save valuable production time with its streamlined process to image to pre-coated stocks with existing Matchprint Digital Halftone donor films. To finish the proof, the user passes specially coated media through the Imation Matchprint Digital Halftone DtP Color Setting Unit. The system's two-sided imaging capabilities and resulting foldable proof lets printers and prepress shops closely simulate the final printed product. "This is yet another example of Imation's commitment to provide key digital technology that helps printers, trade shops and publishers run profitable businesses, while allowing them the flexibility to meet their customers' targets," said Deb Dawson, DtP product manager, of Imation. "The Imation Matchprint Digital Halftone DtP Proofing system gives customers a competitive edge by trimming waste and speeding up the workflow to ensure our customers deliver products their clients need -- while maintaining the Matchprint brand promise of consistency and accuracy."
