Sprockets Strengthens Board, Adds Akamai Exec to Board of Directors

BOSTON--Sept. 4, 2001--Sprockets, the Web-based project management solution provider to marketing groups and their advertising and public relations agency partners, today announced the addition of Michael Ruffolo to its Board of Directors. Michael currently serves as Executive Vice President at Akamai, a leading provider of services and software for e-business infrastructure. Akamai is solving the enterprises' need to align their e-business infrastructure with their rapidly evolving corporate objectives. He is responsible for the company's positioning and go-to-market strategies including corporate and product marketing, sales education and support along with business development. Before joining Akamai, Michael served as executive Vice President of Global Sales, Services and Marketing for EMC Corporation. During his time at EMC he directed the Company's worldwide sales, customer service, professional services and marketing operations; managing over 12,000 people worldwide and driving over $8.5 billion in revenue. Prior to EMC, Michael was President of the Document Solutions Group at Xerox Corporation where he had worldwide operational and profit responsibility for the group, which had annual revenues of more than $3 billion and a 35% annual growth rate. Previously Michael spent 10 years at NCR Corporation/AT&T in a series of senior positions including Vice President and Chief Information Officer, Vice President of Worldwide Services and several senior sales and alliance management positions. He began his career with Eastman Kodak Company's Business Imaging Systems Division where he held a number of key sales and marketing positions. "Michael is a high-technology industry veteran and we're proud to have him as a member of our Board,'' said Sprockets President, Patrick White. "He has a remarkable track record of driving revenues and growth rates in the positions he has held. Michael brings a tremendous amount of experience and knowledge to our company and will be instrumental in guiding our continued growth.'' Michael also currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors for Guardent, Inc. and as an Advisory Board member for Adventis, Manugistics and I-Phrase Technologies. Michael earned his bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Dayton and his MBA from Harvard Business School. He has also completed the Advanced Management Programme at the European Institute of International Business (INSEAD).
