Canon New Zealand Expands EFIs Velocity Distribution in Asia Pacific

Press release from the issuing company

FOSTER CITY, Calif.-Nov. 13, 2001--Electronics For Imaging (EFI), the world leader in providing hardware and software imaging solutions for networked printers and copiers, announces a second distribution partnership in Asia Pacific for its new Velocity(TM) workflow software. Following a landmark first distribution agreement in the Asia Pacific with Canon Singapore, Canon New Zealand now offers Velocity to corporations and businesses featuring high volume, multiple printer environments. "Copy bureaus, commercial printers and corporate reproduction departments will all benefit from the increased productivity and flexibility that Velocity together with Canon's copiers provides,'' said Mr. Peter Whalan, national manager, Business Imaging Solutions Group, Canon New Zealand. "Velocity enables us to connect multiple devices from our GP, iR and CLC ranges, improving flexibility by enabling users to split print jobs over a number of machines. EFI's Velocity software also selects the most efficient device for the job, giving our clients a total workflow solution.'' EFI's Velocity software, recently released in North America and Europe, will be incorporated in Canon's high volume printing solution. Velocity dramatically increases productivity by controlling up to ten multi-purpose high-speed printing and copying devices. Its capabilities range from document scanning, building and imposition to load balancing and workflow automation. "Velocity maximizes the throughput of these high volume printers. Users gain greater productivity as well as a consistent, modular and scalable user interface,'' said Craig Saphin, senior director, Asia Pacific sales at EFI. "With Velocity, multi-engine environments perform at maximum efficiency.''
