Backed by Quad/Graphics' 1,000 color experts and decade of color conversion experience, RasterLab uses image-editing applications to complete client-specified tasks. The portal can accommodate an unlimited number of images from any one client and completes conversions or corrections within 24 hours, or in just six hours for same-day service. RasterLab is a result of Quad/Graphics' Imaging Information Technology Research & Development and is the company's newest branded online service. As an unrestricted Web site, it is available worldwide and is ideal for the graphic arts and digital processing industry, namely catalogers, publishers, direct mailers, photo studios, advertising agencies, prep houses, retailers and stock photo houses. It is an easy two-step process for companies to start using RasterLab. * Log on to www.RasterLab.com and download the LabCourier software onto either a Mac or PC. * Following the online instructions, install the free LabCourier client software and create a private account. Once an account is set up, clients create a Color Correction Master file (delivery file) on their desktop and send their images (EPS, TIFF, JPEG or Scitex CT files) over a standard Internet connection to RasterLab.com. Images are automatically encoded to accelerate transfer speeds. RasterLab notifies clients by email when their jobs are completed, instructing them to download a Color Correction Packet file (return file). Clients can either apply the corrections to the original image file or save the corrections as a separate image file.
