Shoei Miniature Folding Machine (Model SM40) to Be Demonstrated at Print 01

Press release from the issuing company

PORTLAND, OR - August 31, 2001 -- LDR International (http://www.LDR.com) will be demonstrating a Shoei miniature folding machine (model SM40) at Print '01 in Chicago September 6-13, 2001. In addition to the Shoei miniature folder, LDR International will also be demonstrating the Shoei SRT74-6/4/4, a 29" wide folding machine capable of any combination of map or signature folding, or something as simple as high speed folding of letterheads; the latest Itoh paper cutters and Itoh unloading and stacking equipment; and Kudo joggers, including the Kudo Ace MJ with air blast for sheet separation. The Shoei miniature folders are unique in that they feature a knife folder on the main section that makes it possible to do up to seven parallel folds and a right angle fold without having to go into a second section. Shoei manufactures miniature folders that are capable of folds as small as 5/8". There are numerous accessories available for the folders: a gatefold plate, pressing stackers, mobile knife sections, and web roll feeders, to name a few. The SM40 is available with five or seven plates and one or two right angle sections. Computer control systems are available on all models of Shoei folders, from the SM26 miniature folder, to the SM40, all the way up to the 32"-wide, SRT82 folder. Two configurations of computer controls are available. One configuration controls the feeder, register table, and fold plates. The second configuration controls the fold roll settings as well. The computer control lets the operator input a sheet size and folding configuration, and the feeder, register table, fold plates, and fold rolls all automatically move to the proper settings. Input is accomplished on a intuitive touch screen monitor. Minor adjustments can be made quickly and easily on the screen. Fast setup and high running speeds will increase profits for any bindery. LDR International will be exhibiting at booth #4520 of Print '01. Print '01 is the largest, most comprehensive trade show in the world this year for graphic design, digital prepress, printing, publishing, and converting technology. The show will be held at McCormick Place Complex in Chicago, IL, from September 6-13, 2001.
