OneVision Launches Garda, Safeguards Production Lines in Pre-press & Pre-media

Press release from the issuing company

Regensburg, Germany (30 August 2001) OneVision Software AG is pleased to announce today its newest product Garda, an independent application to safeguard entire Asura systems, the OneVision software solution for the automatic prefining of data. With this product, OneVision now offers another useful building block to safeguard production lines in the pre-press and pre-media sectors. The monitoring functions included in Garda ensure that an entire Asura system will never be brought to a standstill. These monitoring functions cover all processes essential to the overall Asura system the background services and the event log in Windows 2000 or WindowsNT, as well as the available memory capacity. Each time the system is re-started, Garda automatically opens Asura, along with its own queue monitoring function, and the necessary background services. If any one of these services cannot be started, Garda is able to re-boot the system. In its main window, Garda lists all the monitored processes along with the status of the necessary resources. The user is able to obtain information on the status of the RAM, virtual memory, and CPU time at any point in time. Garda monitors the available physical and virtual memory, and issues a warning message if both values fall below 10MB. If both values fall below 1MB, or if Garda registers a system failure, Asura is closed and re-started in order to allow Windows 2000 or Windows NT to free up used resources.
