Stora Enso Introduces New Generation of Coated Printing Papers in North America

Press release from the issuing company

WISCONSIN RAPIDS, Wis., Aug. 27 Stora Enso North America, a division of global paper and forest products leader Stora Enso Oyj today announced an innovative, customer-focused introduction of new coated printing papers that consolidates brands and combines new unequalled optical and paper performance characteristics with the many celebrated attributes of its former fine-paper products. This major product line improvement, redesign and realignment results in Stora Enso "power brands'' that meet customers' highest expectations for printing papers, quality, service and delivery. Stora Enso's core business values serve as the foundation for this change, according to Kai Korhonen, Stora Enso North America president. "We have said that we want to be the customers' first choice and that we will deliver results; that we will focus on the future by taking the first step and that we will be the leading forest products company in the world. To do so, we must deliver value, quality and service to our customers. We met with customers, we listened to them and we made changes. Our new coated fine-paper products will deliver the expected results.'' As part of the realignment, the premium fine-paper grades formerly known as Reflections, Centura and Frostbrite(TM) have been combined to create the new Centura. It is available in sheet and web form with gloss, silk, dull and matte finishes. Centura now features increased brightness, a new blue-white shade that is preferred by customers and an outstanding printing surface that provides eye-pleasing results. Centura is the new "super-clean,'' "blue-white'' paper that provides the ultimate paper performance customers demand. The former Consoweb Brilliant, Productolith and Lithoweb grades have been enhanced and combined to create the new Productolith product offering, which is available in gloss or dull finish in sheets and in a new web offset form. Productolith features new optical characteristics, new basis weights and the same on-press traits that made it the legendary performer. It is a superb, high-performance paper that delivers consistency, reliability and quality. Stora Enso will continue to produce the popular Orion and Fortune(TM) coated paper products, which feature proven performance from pressroom to bindery. Orion, a web product, is now available in gloss, dull, silk and matte finishes. Fortune, a sheeted paper, is available in both gloss and matte finishes. An aggressive and integrated advertising and sales promotion campaign supports the new products, including: new branding initiatives, packaging changes, targeted advertising, direct-response marketing, internet promotion, collateral sales materials, special promotions and reinforced customer-service programs, including enhanced delivery systems.
