Xinet to Unveil WebNative Venture, Only DAM Database That Sits Inside the Workflow

Press release from the issuing company

CHICAGO, IL - August 17, 2001 - Xinet, Inc. is unveiling WebNative Venture, its Web-based asset management system with an integrated, enterprise-strength database, at the Print 01 show in booth ##6550 at McCormick Place Complex in Chicago, Sept. 6-13, 2001. WebNative Venture is the only digital asset management solution that operates inside the workflow and has unlimited database connections for its price. Other digital asset management solutions work outside the workflow and take a snapshot of files with indexers, cataloguers and check-in, check-out. Xinet's database, which automatically records everything that happens to files, comes pre-configured and ready to go out of the box. WebNative Venture provides 24-hour access to production servers via the Internet, and allows users to search, share, manage, and re-purpose assets with impressive speed. With a standard Web browser, users access their assets and archives - anytime, anywhere. Its customizable meta-data, user privilege controls and fast searching capabilities allow organizations to effectively track increasing amounts of data. "Our approach to data asset management is similar to what Xinet did with OPI. We came in when people were disenchanted with the competition. We make work what other people promise," said Xinet CEO Scott Seebass. At Print 01 Xinet will also be unveiling FullPress® version 11.0, which enables PDF in all types of production systems. FullPress 11.0, the industry's leading prepress server package, includes new supported file formats, new vector image support, as well as image replacement options which allow you to build workflows that were not possible before. "The primary advantage of FullPress 11.0 is how it brings PDF into the workflow easily. By generating PDF files internally, FullPress 11 eliminates the need for having multiple external distillers running," said Bill Covington, Director of Technology for Vertis, Inc., a leading provider of advertising and marketing services, who has worked with FullPress 11.0 since early July. "Also, the ability to generate previews from many different PostScript formats -- PDF included -- is a really big plus." Xinet, Inc., with offices in Berkeley, California, and Munich, Germany, has been developing cross-platform networking software since 1985. Products include FullPress®, Xinet's suite of server-based prepress workflow applications, WebNative™, a web-based asset management and distribution system, and WebNative Venture, which includes an integrated database.
