EUROPE, August 15, 2001 - Leeds United Publishing (the Media division of Leeds United Football Club) has unveiled its brand new book Leeds United - A Season in Pictures, highlighting the best moments from last season, the production of which was entirely managed by httprint. It is the first time Leeds United Publishing has used a print management resource rather than working directly with printers. European Managing Director Rob North comments, "We are delighted to be working closely with Leeds. The total service that we offer demonstrates httprint's aim to ensure added value for our clients and to enhance their product portfolio especially with the creative & specialist print products that we are able to provide. Neil Howson, Publishing Manager at Leeds United is clear on the advantages. He says: "The professionalism of this Club is reflected through all of its publications, and this picture book is no exception to the standard of quality and appeal we seek. httprint has brought in fresh ideas and has increased the efficiency of our production practices. Taking on the task of managing the project through to completion has also freed up our resources. We are extremely impressed with the organisation." httprint worked with Leeds United from the outset of the project, assisting at each stage of the books development, from pre-press through to printing and delivery to Elland Road. It also introduced and trained staff to use software that enabled artwork files to be created in a locked format to ensure 100% file integrity. 5,000 copies of the 100 page, perfect bound, four-colour book, were printed and finished with httprint taking complete control, to supply a first class product. httprint has been given the task of handling another book for the Club and has already presented a variety of specialist products, such as holography and lenticular printing, to take their promotional material to another level.
