White Stone, VA, August 2001—The Research & Engineering Council of the Graphic Arts Industry has announced its schedule of seminars and breakfasts through 2002. The 2002 agenda continues the long Council tradition of bringing technological and management information to the printing and graphic arts industry. The formats of R&E Council seminars and breakfasts are designed to assist both operating personnel and management in dealing with the complex technologies and personnel issues which printers face in the new millennium. The Research & Engineering Council of the Graphic Arts Industry is dedicated to the education of printing industry personnel in the latest technologies and productivity improvement methods. The Council conducts seminars at which publishers, printers, educators, consultants and suppliers meet to share information and learn about leading edge technologies affecting the graphic arts industry. At three annual seminars—Pressroom, Bindery, and Digital Smart Factory—the latest technologies are reviewed in the context of actual print production. The Council also holds technology breakfasts at key industry trade shows, and an annual meeting highlighting critical trends in the graphic arts industry.
