Print Buyers: On-site Print Management May Be Better Off-site

Lexington, Kentucky, USA - August 12, 2001 - WhatTheyThink.com, the leading on-line community and research firm in the graphic arts industry, surveyed print buyers about their perception and use of on-site facility management services. This survey took place with 136 print buyers from a variety of industry segments located throughout the United States. The buyers were asked: Some companies provide print management services where they manage your print and copy needs on-site at your location. These companies usually provide these services under 1 to 5 year contracts. Does your company use a facility management firm now? If you answered "yes", which best describes your satisfaction with this arrangement? If you answered "no", which best describes your view of this service? Overall, 12 percent of these buyers said they have a facility management on-site with 88 percent saying they did not. Of print buyers who have these services on-site, 33 percent said they were very satisfied with the arrangement, 27 percent said they were satisfied and 40 percent said their facility management needs improvement.
