Cabinet NG in deal with Kodak and KOM Networks

Press release from the issuing company

Huntsville, Alabama, September 29, 2008 – Cabinet NG (CNG), the preeminent automated document management and workflow solution for small enterprises; KOM Networks, an innovative provider of KOMpliance, WORM Hard Disk Data Archiving Solutions and Storage Management software; and Kodak, a leader in document imaging, today unveiled a complete, all inclusive paperless document management solution for financial advisory firms, and broker dealers. Available immediately from CNG, the new product package consists of CNG-SAFE document management software, one or more Kodak scanner(s) (model i1120 or i1220 or i1320), and KOMpliance, KOM Networks' eWORM Server.

Financial services firms are eager to reap the benefits of electronic document management, such as time and money saved storing and retrieving files and folders, in addition to the efficiencies and productivity boosts gained from improved workflow throughout the company. The challenge has been to easily and economically incorporate hardware compatibility and compliance technologies into their paperless office strategies.

Explained Kamel Shaath, CTO, KOM Networks, "The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Rule 17a tells financial services firms that electronic records must be preserved exclusively in a non-rewritable, non-erasable format; but, most financial planners don't have an IT department in-house to sort through the confusing and contradictory array of 17a storage options. KOM Networks solves the problem with KOMpliance, a rock-solid eWORM storage technology that ensures compliance-readiness."

"Choosing the best technologies that will work together to give firms an integrated document management solution is exactly why we are partnering with CNG and KOM Networks," said Kevin Diday, Business Development Manager, Kodak's Document Imaging Business. "Paperless processes require scanning physical documents. We offer financial services firms the most efficient, economical scanning options including the Kodak i1120, i1220 and i1320 models of desktop scanners to support differing scanning workloads."

Added Jon Clark, VP Sales, CNG, "Advisors and broker dealers go paperless to improve office efficiency and automate business workflow.  CNG is pleased to partner with Kodak and KOM Networks to deliver an integrated document management package that comprehensively addresses regulatory compliance in a paperless environment."

Key to the effectiveness of the CNG-SAFE document management platform is the storage of ALL documents in a central information repository – in their original electronic formats. Staff based at either HQ or remote locations get the same instant and secure access to client files. Files and folders are only accessible by authorized users – access parameters can be set as granular as the firm wants. Document risks are covered by complete rights management, rules-based document retention and built-in audit capabilities.

CNG-SAFE easily integrates with current financial and business software applications to provide more efficient office workflows. Financial and insurance industry businesses can replace paper and boost accessibility and insight with automated electronic workflows that streamline internal processes – making filing, locating and sharing documents simple, seamless and secure.
