Indigo Joins Preco at SGIA

Press release from the issuing company

WOBURN, MA, August 2, 2001 – Indigo N.V. (NASDAQ:INDG), a world leader in digital color printing systems, will join one of its in-line converting partners, Preco Industries, Inc., at the Screenprinting & Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA)’s 2001 Convention & Exposition at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California, from September 19th – 22nd. The two companies are teaming up at Preco’s Booth #1083 to demonstrate an in-line print-to-cut solution that is laser-accurate, laser-fast and laser-flexible, using Preco’s PLG15 Laser System and Indigo’s Omnius WebStream Digital Offset Color press. "We’re looking forward to proving the digital-meets-digital advantage of our combined technologies," says Vince Pentella, Omnius National Sales Manager for Indigo America. "The high-speed Indigo Omnius WebStream’s ability to print on a wide variety of substrates, combined with the high-speed PLG15 Laser System’s ability to cut variable shapes, means that manufacturers can have printed parts ready in a matter of minutes instead of hours." Designed for a wide range of industrial applications, Preco’s advanced laser-system technology gives manufacturers the ability to excise parts printed on a variety of polyester and polymide materials, with no carbon residue. The Omnius WebStream digital press, designed for labels and packaging, prints high-quality, full-color graphics on these same materials, its unique variable data technology allowing each part to be printed differently, as needed. "The Omnius WebStream continues to offer new applications for other industries," notes Rick Mangold, Vice President of Sales for Indigo America, "and the advantages of Indigo digital technology as applied to screen printing are enhanced by Preco’s laser-cutting solutions and similar in-line configurations." In addition to SGIA 2001, Preco Industries is hosting an Indigo Omnius Road Show at its Demo Center in Lenexa, Kansas, on August 7th and 8th. As a combined open house, the Road Show brings Indigo’s Omnius WebStream to Preco headquarters and offers preview demonstrations of the same high-speed, high-quality, print-to-cut capabilities that will be highlighted at SGIA the following month. "We look at the Preco/Indigo Open House and Indigo’s subsequent participation in Preco’s SGIA booth as unique opportunities to showcase a technological concept not yet experienced by our target markets. This association helps to demonstrate a digital concept – variable data / variable form – that will not only prove mutually beneficial, but also provide both our markets with the insight they need to better and more profitably serve their customers," states Wally Hobart, President of Preco Industries.
