ENCAD Announces New 36-Inch Graphics Printer With RIP

SAN DIEGO, July 26 ENCAD, Inc. a leader in digital image printing technology announced today a new 36-inch, wide-format graphics printer that includes an Adobe PostScript 3(TM) Vibrant-Link(TM), RIP (Raster Image Processor). Branded the NovaJet 736 and priced at $5,495 (USD - MSRP), its entry-level price and easy-to-use features make it ideal for corporate and professional users. The four-color, NovaJet 736 produces stunning, vivid color images in 600 dpi resolution while incorporating all of the award-winning, leading-edge technology capabilities currently available in ENCAD's family of NovaJet printers. The NovaJet 736 will begin shipping in mid-August. As an introductory offer, until September 30, 2001, ENCAD is including the Vibrant-Link RIP with the new NovaJet 736 printer at $5,495. After September 30, the Vibrant-Link RIP will be available for $899. The Vibrant-Link RIP is a true Adobe PostScript 3 RIP that is seamlessly integrated as a software driver for use with the NovaJet 736. Its user-friendly features include color profiles for ENCAD's family of inks and media. Markets expected to take full advantage of the new NovaJet 736 include corporate in-house, quick print/copy shops, reprographic service bureaus, color photo labs, and graphic artists. Lighter and smaller than other NovaJet models, the NovaJet 736 boasts full compatibility with ENCAD's comprehensive family of inks and media, MicroBurst technology, and 600x600 addressable resolution. Also integrated are four CMYK inkjet cartridges, four 500ml ink reservoirs that employ eight ink lines which enable a user to effortlessly switch back and forth between the inks as the printing application requires, a refillable on-the-fly ink system, 500ml ink cartridge throughput warranty, an optional 100 BaseT interface, and much, much more. IMMEDIATE INDEPENDENT RIP SUPPORT The NovaJet 736 is also fully supported by a variety of industry leading application-specific RIP partners that specialize in color calibration and color profiling.
