Press release from the issuing company

Following their unveiling at CeBIT, the Coloropen series of programs Scanopen, Viewopen and Printopen from Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg) is now available for the market in version 4.0.5. The new versions ensure professional color management on all the popular platforms with a standardized design and additional new features. Since each of the three software packages contains a Mac OS X version, a Mac OS 9 variant and a Windows PC version, Installation has been made much simpler. The customer decides which version he needs. Cross-upgrades from all platforms are also possible. The documentation and help functions have been comprehensively updated. The new software version and the online manual are now available in five languages and a context-sensitive Java help function and identical operation and functionality considerably facilitate true-color work in OS X and on PC. Exact color space display for analysis purposes has also been optimized. In addition, Printopen has greatly improved proof matching for proofers with color casts and a whole range of test forms are supplied for all add-on measuring instruments. Editing functions for profiles have been significantly extended. The Coloropen Tools are the first available professional color management for the new MacOS X operating system from Apple. Processing of up to four special colors with automatic allowance for and compensation of optical brighteners in the paper round off the Coloropen products' impressive range of features.
