Oce USA and Willamette Form Alliance, One-Stop Shopping for All Printing Supplies

Boca Raton, FL – July 26, 2001 – The Supplies Business Unit of Oce Printing Systems USA, Inc. announces an alliance with Willamette Industries Inc.,-Business Communication Papers Division and an expansion of its supplies program. The partnership between the two companies enables Oce to offer its own branded roll paper to its customer base. The move heightens Oce’s commitment to help customers achieve maximum performance on its printing devices and it provides a single source of contact for production management. "The addition of Oce certified papers fits well into our strategy for expanding our supplies services to create a true one-stop shopping option for our growing customer base," said Brian Steinbook, Executive Director for Oce’s Supplies Business Unit. "In addition, our simplified supply source eases the ordering process. Customers interact with fewer suppliers; thereby their overall transaction costs are lowered," he continued. Oce and Willamette will jointly use their R&D resources and developmental laboratories in the United States, Netherlands, and Germany to focus on new product developments. This first move exemplifies Oce’s goal to create a broader array of customized and innovative paper solutions that allow customers to expand their participation in growing markets such as Print On Demand and Direct Mail. The Oce roll papers are branded and certified for use with Oce printers for consistent superior performance. The papers will be competitively priced and will be available in July with additional paper types to be offered throughout the coming year. Adding Oce certified and branded paper to its offerings uniquely positions Oce as the first OEM production printing company to offer a Total Certified Printing Solution.
