Stuffit Compression Kit Available for Windows, Solaris and Linux

New York, NY Macworld Expo, Booth #1319 - July 17, 2001- Continuing its lead in providing universal compression solutions for all major computing platforms Aladdin Systems (OTC BB: ALHI) today released the StuffIt Engine(tm) Software Developer Kit (SDK) for Windows, Linux, and Solaris. These releases will allow developers to integrate compression into their project, whether the goal is to wrap a group of files chosen on the fly into a single self-extracting archive appropriate to the user's computer, or reducing the time it takes to send/receive files. "With this release of the StuffIt Engine SDK's, enterprise, product, and Web developers, can quickly and easily integrate compression into their project," said David Polzine, StuffIt Engine product manager. "Aladdin now provides developers with a single source from which to license their compression solutions." The SDK supports the following compression and encoding formats: StuffIt, Zip, Gzip, Tar, Rar, Bzip2, Uuencode, Unix Compress, Binhex, MacBinary and more (for a complete list visit: www.stuffit.com/info/full_sdk.html) and all formats are accessible via a single application program interface (API). The SDK is appropriate both for compiled programs and popular web-scripting languages while the StuffIt format is Unicode compliant for compatibility with two-byte languages such as Chinese.
