Oce Announces DPConnect, Integrates into Xerox Docutech Environment

Press release from the issuing company

Poing, Germany, July 20, 2001 — Oce Printing Systems GmbH places its stakes on open systems with its PRISMA server architecture, and has just unveiled a new product for integrating Oce Demandstream printing systems into Xerox PoD environments. Users who work with DigiPath and wish to run Oce DemandStream printing systems alongside their DocuTech systems can use the new software, DPconnect on PRISMA servers, to print straight to any Oce Demandstream printing system. This gives DigiPath users access to the entire Oce DemandStream production printing range, right across the performance spectrum, from midrange speeds to a lightning-fast 1,000 pages per minute. DPconnect receives the Digipath print data automatically and converts it to a format that ties in with the features and capabilities of the Oce printing systems. Users can continue to work with their DigiPath in the same way as before. No additional software is required, because DPconnect integrates into the DigiPath workflow. By using DPconnect, businesses can protect their existing investment and can continue to use the perhaps-large volumes of data, which they already have in DigiPath format. DPconnect will be available the first quarter of 2002. The first public showing will be at the Print 01 trade show in Chicago this September.
