Bitstream Releases Its Third Set of Fonts From the New Font Collection Program

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. July 18, 2001--Bitstream Inc. (NASDAQ: BITS) announced today that it is releasing its third set of fonts from the New Font Collection program. The new release features display and text fonts from an eclectic group of designers: Brian Bonislawsky, Nick Curtis, Tony Fahy, Charles Gibbons & Mary Trafton, Nicolai Gogoll, Holly Goldsmith, Richard Hubbard, Eduardo Manso, and Kate Peters.      All the fonts will be available in PostScript Type 1 and TrueType formats for both Windows and the Macintosh.      Bitstream announced the New Font Collection (NFC) program on August 8 of last year. The first two NFC releases, completed in September and December, 2000, included exclusive designs from John Downer, Charles Gibbons, Holly Goldsmith, Eduardo Manso, and Harry Pears of Typeface Research and Margaret Layson.      The following typefaces are featured in this combined spring and summer release: -- Artane Elongated(TM) by Tony Fahy -- Cavalero, Stingwire, and Tannarin by Brian Bonislawsky -- Drescher Grotesk Semi-Bold, Bold, and Small Sizes by NicolaiGogoll     -- FM Rustling Branches Moon(TM)and FM Falling Leaves Moon(TM)by Charles Gibbons & Mary Trafton     -- Picayune Intelligence(TM)by Nick Curtis     -- Raven and Raven Evermore by Holly Goldsmith     -- Richfont Medium(TM)by Richard Hubbard     -- Rina(TM)and Rina Linea(TM)by Eduardo Manso     -- SissyBoy(TM)by Kate Peters "We are absolutely thrilled to announce this new release," said Jim Lyles, Director of Typographic Development at Bitstream and designer of a variety of fonts, including Candy Bits.
