SAN JOSE, Calif., July 11 - Adobe Systems Incorporated, the leader in network publishing, today announced the immediate availability of Adobe PageMaker 7.0, the newest version of its award-winning page layout program. PageMaker 7.0 software is an integrated business publishing solution with easy-to-use tools for producing professional quality results. Educators, business professionals and small office/home office (SOHO) users with little or no design experience are adopting PageMaker 7.0 to produce professional quality materials. With built-in Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) creation tools, users can create tagged Adobe PDF files to display documents properly on a variety of devices including laptop computers, PDAs, and other wireless devices. "Improved support for Adobe PDF in PageMaker 7.0 is an important enhancement,'' said Gordon Woolf, owner of Worsley Press. "Quick conversion of materials to tagged Adobe PDF files speeds the process of sharing materials with clients and simplifies the work of creating designs that can be distributed on paper or over the Web.'' PageMaker 7.0 provides tighter integration with popular business applications including Adobe Acrobat Photoshop, Photoshop Elements and Adobe Illustrator providing the tools to enhance productivity when designing materials. PageMaker further empowers business publishers with significant timesaving capabilities by allowing reuse of existing content with its updated support for importing Microsoft Word files and with updated file conversion support for Microsoft Publisher (Microsoft Windows only) and QuarkXPress(TM) files. "Business publishers who want their business to grow know they need professional looking marketing materials,'' said Susan Altman Prescott, vice president of cross-media publishing at Adobe. "Professionally designed templates, high quality clip art, the ability to easily incorporate a wide variety of file formats and broad support by commercial printers allow PageMaker 7.0 users to produce high-quality printed results.''
