SHELTON, Conn.--July 9, 2001--Baldwin Technology Company, Inc. (ASE:BLD) announced today that Vijay C. Tharani has joined the Company as Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer. Prior to joining Baldwin, Mr. Tharani was Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Weigh-Tronix, LLC, a privately-held, manufacturer of industrial weighing systems with sales of approximately $300 million. From 1995 to 1998, Mr. Tharani was Vice President of Finance for the International Division of Fisher Scientific, Inc., a global distributor of laboratory chemicals, supplies and equipment. Prior to that, he was Finance Director at The Pillsbury Company--International. Mr. Tharani started his business career with RJR Nabisco, moving from Staff Accountant to Senior Business Analyst. He earned his BA at Montclair State University and has an MBA from NYU's Stern School of Business.
