Glunz & Jensen Intends To Take Over Agfa Plate Processors Plant in Thetford (UK)

Mortsel (Belgium), 06.07.2001- Glunz & Jensen, Denmark, and the Agfa-Gevaert Group, Mortsel/Belgium, announced today that they have signed a letter of intent to take over Agfa's plate processor plant in Thetford, UK. Glunz & Jensen is a Danish equipment manufacturer and market leader of film and plate processors and has for many years had a close co-operation with Agfa concerning the development and production of graphic equipment. After the take-over, Glunz & Jensen will supply Agfa with a product portfolio, produced according to Agfa's specifications, which Agfa will continue to offer to its customers under the Agfa label. At present, Glunz & Jensen already has a plate processor plant in Thetford, UK. The consolidation of the Agfa plant into the Glunz & Jensen's activities will result in a positive synergy for both companies and for their customers. The take-over includes assets as well as all employees (69). The transaction is to become effective on October 1st, 2001, after a due diligence process. Further terms were not disclosed.
