Graphic Packaging Appoints Luis Leon as Chief Financial Officer

GOLDEN, Colo., July 2 Graphic Packaging International Corporation today announced the appointment of Luis E. Leon as Chief Financial Officer. In his welcoming comments, CEO Jeffrey H. Coors said, "Luis brings to us a well-rounded background in finance, accounting and administration, together with demonstrated success in mergers and acquisitions. He has also had responsibility for a major operating unit that will allow him to bring an operating perspective to the CFO position. We eagerly look forward to his contribution to our future growth." Since 1994, Mr. Leon, 48, has been with GS Industries, Inc, most recently serving as EVP and CFO, EVP-Mining Products, and a member of the Board. GS Industries, based in Charlotte, North Carolina, is a metal-products company which managed revenues in excess of $1 billion. The company has 3,000 employees and operates on five continents. Previously, Mr. Leon held CFO or Treasurer positions with three multinational corporations -- Wyman-Gordon, an aerospace metals company; Milton Roy, an industrial manufacturing company; and Kerr-McGee, an energy corporation. In these positions he gained extensive experience in financings, acquisitions and divestitures. Luis Leon earned a BS degree in finance from the University of Denver in 1978, an MBA in finance from Oklahoma City University in 1985, and he completed the executive training program at Wharton Business School, University of Pennsylvania in 1987. Mr. Leon and his family are relocating to Colorado. Gail A. Constancio will be leaving the Company to pursue other opportunities. In making this announcement, Jeff Coors said, "Sadly, Gail will be leaving Graphic Packaging after 14 years with the organization. She joined Adolph Coors Company in 1987 and was part of the financial team when we were spun off from the brewery in 1992 as ACX Technologies. Her strong leadership greatly contributed to our success during the incredible growth and integration phases of acquiring Universal Packaging in 1998 and Fort James' packaging operations in 1999." Mr. Coors continued, "Gail has been instrumental in our quadrupling of folding-carton revenues since 1997. She leaves with our thanks and good wishes." Graphic Packaging is a leading manufacturer of folding cartons primarily for food and beverage consumer-products companies. The Company has 4,400 employees and 20 plants in North America and generated revenues of $1.1 billion in 2000.
