EFI to Launch New Fiery Platforms At PRINT 01, Seybold

Press release from the issuing company

SAN FRANCISCO--Sept. 4, 2001--Electronics For Imaging, the world leader in providing hardware and software imaging solutions for networked printers and copiers, will launch the next generation of its industry-leading Fiery controllers at two major trade shows this month. At PRINT 01 in Chicago, EFI will preview the new Fiery Z5 and Fiery Z18 platforms with its OEM partners. The official launch will be at the Seybold tradeshow in San Francisco at the end of the month where EFI will showcase the new platforms as well as announce additional product and partner activities. The new Fiery Z5 for mid-range color copiers and the Fiery Z18 for high-end printers will provide the power, precision, and advanced workflow controls needed to maximize both print quality and productivity for the print-for-pay, CRD, commercial printer and graphic arts markets. Each platform features a major re-architecture -- enabling dramatic improvements in printing speed -- and is designed to run a powerful and advanced new EFI software featuring specialized tools for graphic arts professionals. At PRINT 01, EFI's OEM partners will preview the Fiery Z5 and Z18 platforms on their respective color copiers/printers. At Seybold, EFI will officially launch the new Fiery Z series with full product details and demonstrations, as well as preview the powerful combination of imaging features and technology of its new software package that will ship early next year. "These are our best Fiery platforms yet, leveraging more than ten years of technological leadership in innovation, performance, and quality,'' said Guy Gecht, CEO, Electronics for Imaging. "I'm excited about our newest innovations, and about expanding the Fiery's capabilities to meet the growing needs of creative graphic arts professionals.'' PRINT 01 runs Sept. 6-13 in Chicago at the McCormick Center. The Seybold San Francisco Expo runs Sept. 25-27 in San Francisco at the Moscone Center.
