IDEAL.com Introduces New Scanner Models

June 19, 2001, Chicago, IL - IDEAL.com introduces new scanners that will revolutionize the scanning industry: the IDEAL/Contex SuperWIDE 40" scanner, the IDEAL/Contex Cougar 25" and 36" Scanners and the IDEAL/Contex Chameleon 25" and 36" Scanners. All of these scanners incorporate the latest in imaging technology for high quality scanning and copying. "The new IDEAL/Contex scanners offer customers a wide range of scanning solution options from 25" wide up to 50" wide depending upon their requirements for scanning, indexing, archiving, and printing all types of documents and drawings," states Jay Magenheim, president of IDEAL.com, located in Rockville, MD. The IDEAL/Contex SuperWide 40 is a 40" wide production-oriented scanner for Service Bureaus and Reprographic Departments. Use with IDEAL's ScanDEX scanning and indexing software for automated data capture. This scanner's extraordinarily high quality black and white images can be scanned at a full 600 dpi, however with a simple Smart Card upgrade, the SuperWIDE 40 can obtain resolutions of 800 dpi. The Smart Card does even more. It upgrades the SuperWIDE 40's scanning speed from 3" per second to an impressive 6" per second. The IDEAL/Contex Cougar, available in both 25" and 36" sizes, opens new possibilities for Sign Companies, Pre-press shops, Copy Shops, POP/Exhibit/Display Providers, Mapping, Architect and Engineer offices. Used with IDEAL's award-winning ScanOS software, users can scan and single-field index both color and monochrome images. This scanner creates images in photo-realistic colors, high-quality grayscale and crisp, clear black and white. Sporting both an ultra-fast SCSI connection and a USB connection for plug and play compatibility, both models have all-wheel drive with contour adjustment and handle thick originals up to 0.6". The IDEAL/Contex Chameleon Adaptable Scanners are designed to introduce professionals to wide format document scanning at a highly affordable price while keeping their options open. This scanner upgrades from the Basic monochrome model to the Plus color model with a smart card option. The low-cost Chameleon is available in compact 25" models that fit into any office and full size 36" wide large format models. The Chameleon features USB plug and play connectivity.
