printCafe Integrates Auto-Count with Hagen and PSI Beta Application Unveiled

Press release from the issuing company

ORLANDO, FL, Connect 2001 (June 15, 2001) – printCafe, the operating system for print, today demonstrated integration of its Auto-Count(R) Production Monitoring platform with two of its print management systems, printCafe Hagen and printCafe PSI. This beta integration was unveiled to nearly 1000 printCafe customers at the company’s second annual user conference, Connect 2001, at the Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel in Orlando, FL. As a key component of the printCafe Logic management system, Auto-Count software automatically pulls production data directly from a printer’s presses and finishing machines, giving managers a real-time overview of production and productivity. Auto-Count allows the printer to monitor production in real time, track how much is being produced, and where waste is occurring. "Today’s beta integration of Auto-Count with printCafe’s Hagen and PSI products is a significant milestone," said Bob Bierwagen, Vice President of Print Management Products and Client Services for printCafe. "We’re demonstrating our continued commitment to provide cross-platform tools for our clients, and a commitment to our larger vision of tying the industry’s leading software systems for print into one seamless, end-to-end process. We first introduced this vision a year ago at our first users conference, and we’re proud to be delivering on our promise." Shortly after printCafe’s creation in early 2000, the print supply chain management company acquired the industry’s leading print management companies. Over the past year, printCafe has continued to enhance existing products for printers with nine product updates and has supported them with new offerings like Auto-Count and PrintFlow. printCafe also offers ecommerce solutions for corporate print buyers and their printers, and is developing technology for connecting paper and materials suppliers across the print supply chain. Last month, printCafe acquired Impresse Corporation of Sunnyvale, CA, a competitor in the print e-procurement market.
