printCafe Records Huge Sales Month, Signs Key Accounts Including St. Ives

Press release from the issuing company

ORLANDO, FL, Connect 2001 (June 14, 2001) -- printCafe, the operating system for print, today announced it has signed Alderson Brothers Print Group of the United Kingdom; the St. Ives Group, U.S. Division; and Confort & Co. of Long Island, NY, as new customers of printCafe’s Logic, Hagen, and PSI print management systems. Company president and co-CEO, Marc Olin made the announcement while hosting nearly 1000 customers at the Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel in Orlando, FL for Connect 2001, printCafe’s annual users conference. In addition to these new customers, Olin announced that May sales also include new print management systems and Web Site subscribers Intelligencer of Lancaster, PA; Wells Printing of Montgomery, AL; SpringDot of Cincinnati, OH; Vision Graphics of Loveland, CO; Richmark Label of Seattle, WA; and AIIM of Ontario, Canada, among dozens of others. "We are very pleased to report tremendous momentum and financial strength just one year after the print industry’s leading management systems customers converged at the first printCafe users conference in Las Vegas last June," said Olin. "We had a vision of growing a supply chain management company that would empower printers with complete end-to-end integration of the best technologies and processes. I’m proud to say we’ve made great strides toward accomplishing that this year through our commitment to our products and the steady adoption of our technologies by prestigious print organizations like Alderson Brothers, St. Ives, and Confort & Co." Alderson Brothers Print Group is the largest privately owned printing company in Southern England and includes among its larger clients AOL Time Warner, the Tate Gallery, and Fuji. Alderson Brothers will implement printCafe Logic, a complete turnkey business management system for commercial printers covering business functions from sales to shipping and final cost analysis. "Our print management system is the backbone of our operations," said David Bland, operations director of Alderson Brothers. "We’ve done considerable due-diligence on the systems that map best with our unique needs, and printCafe’s product offering clearly had the broadest application and superior functionality." The St. Ives Group, U.S. Division, will deploy printCafe Hagen in the company’s facilities in Miami, FL; Hollywood, FL; Rochester, NY; and Cleveland, OH. "Maximum communication and consistency across our multiple facilities is critical to the success of our business," said Wayne Angstrom, president and CEO of the St. Ives Group. "By adopting the printCafe Hagen system, we’re confident that we can step up the level of efficiency and performance across our U.S. operations." Since its creation, printCafe has enhanced its existing print management software products for its printer customers and supported them with new offerings like PrintFlow and Auto-Count. printCafe has also developed ecommerce solutions for corporate print buyers and their printers, and is developing technology for connecting paper and materials suppliers across the print supply chain. printCafe recently announced the acquisition of the intellectual property assets of its competitor, Impresse, of Sunnyvale, CA, and revealed on May 31 plans to reach profitability in the third quarter of this year.
