Wednesday, August 01, 2001
ELMSFORD, NY, July 31, 2001 –- Fuji Photo Film U.S.A., Inc., one of the world’s leading digital imaging and information companies, today announced that it is strengthening its on-going relationship with Microsoft Corp. through its involvement in the fulfillment of Microsoft Windows XP online printing service orders. In addition, Fujifilm announced that its current and future line of FinePix consumer digital cameras would be fully Windows XP-compatible. The Windows XP photofinishing announcement is significant for both Fujifilm and Microsoft because the arrangement will allow users of the new operating system to obtain professionally processed prints of their digital pictures with just a few clicks of a mouse. This new agreement expands the existing relationship that the two companies already have; Fujifilm currently fulfills all photographic print and greeting card orders for Picture It! on MSN (www.pictureit.msn.com), through its subsidiary, Fujicolor Processing, Inc. Similar to the successful MSN fulfillment arrangement, Fujifilm’s state-of-the-art Frontier Digital Minilabs will be used for processing Windows XP orders to ensure delivery of the same sharp and colorful pictures that consumers, professionals and business customers have all come to expect from Fujifilm photofinishing. "Whether its shooting pictures, saving them for future walks down memory lane, having prints to hold or sharing photos with special friends via the Internet, Fujifilm digital imaging offers picture takers a host of enjoyable shoot, store, print and share options," said Stanley E. Freimuth, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Fuji Photo Film U.S.A., Inc. "By joining with Microsoft and supporting the Windows XP operating system, we will continue to make digital imaging fun and easy by simplifying these processes for both the novice and experienced digital photographer. "Our goal at Fujifilm is to deliver a complete line of products and services to consumers, professionals and business customers while providing them a choice of high-quality options," he continued. "Both our FinePix digital cameras and Frontier Digital Minilab series are recognized for their outstanding quality and technological innovation. We are delighted that we can build on our existing Microsoft relationship and support Windows XP with both our digital cameras and through our photofinishing products and services." "We’re pleased to have Fujifilm on board again in support of our new Windows XP operating system," said John Frederiksen, General Manager of the Windows Division at Microsoft Corp. "We feel confident that users of Windows XP will find the entire Fujifilm digital photography experience, from picture taking to picture making, easy and fun."
