Susquehanna Litho Foundation Launches Campaign to Raise Scholarship Funds

Press release from the issuing company

(6/12/01)The Susquehanna Litho Foundation, created by the Susquehanna Litho Club, is embarking on a $175,000 Capital Campaign to raise funds for scholarships and professional development opportunities. With a 30-year heritage of supporting and promoting printing and graphic arts, The Susquehanna Litho Club created the 501(c)(3) Susquehanna Litho Foundation in 1997 to provide additional scholarships. Funds raised in the Capital Campaign will allow the Foundation to increase the number of scholarships to a minimum of six per year, plus add professional development grants for those already working in the industry. "Printing and related services are the fourth largest industry in the United States, providing excellent career opportunities for young people," explains L. Fred Husson, Honorary Chair of the campaign. "Because most people are unaware of the opportunities, recruiting future employees is increasingly difficult." "Helping young people with career opportunities receives added emphasis with this campaign," adds William McGrorty, Susquehanna Litho Foundation Board President. "We are also addressing the need to help Litho Club members upgrade their skills as technology changes." Volunteers with the capital campaign will contact printing companies and related businesses, individuals and foundations in the geographic area including Berks, Dauphin, Lancaster, Lebanon, and York counties for contributions. Please contact William McGrorty at the above number with questions or to make a financial contribution. All contributions are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
