Toshiba Newest Color Copier, Lower Price and Cost Per Copy

Press release from the issuing company

Irvine, CA Toshiba America Business Solutions Inc. (TABS) introduces its new digital color copier/printer line, the affordable "FCi Series," offering enhanced image quality, lower cost-per-copy (cpc), and a new low price. "Toshiba is pleased to present our new FC15i and FC22i color copier-printers, which raise the standard for color copying. We are confident that both our dealers and end-users will be very excited about these new models," said Rick Taylor, Senior Vice President Sales, Marketing and Business Operations, TABS. The FC15i and FC22i faithfully reproduce color originals at remarkable speeds like their predecessors, the FC15 and FC22, but do so now with even more refined imaging technology. These enhancements include: * An improved drum drive unit for precise color registration. * New organic photo conductor drums combined with micro fine developer. This enables the FC15i and FC22i to reproduce smoother flesh tones and greater image details, as well as better reliability and image stability for the life of the drum. The new microscopic developer increases toner yield by 1,000 impressions and provides a lower overall cpc for greater efficiency. * A new advanced image-processing system makes color copies look as good as the originals. * Improved Image Quality Control Technology minimizes color degradation and ensures the highest possible image reproduction High Speed Laser Color Copies The FC22i is one of the fastest color copier-printers in its class with speeds of 22 color copies-per-minute (cpm) and an impressive 25 pages-per-minute (ppm) when printing. The FC15i copies at 15 cpm and prints at 18 ppm. Toshiba's unique Color Inline Printing System is the reason for its super fast copy and print speeds. Utilizing a Single Pass Four Drum Tandem Design, the FC15i and FC22i reproduce originals with just one scan through the machine versus the four scans required on most color copiers. That results in a First Copy Out Time (FCOT) of only 10.3 seconds. Laser color copies are reproduced at an impressive 9,600 x 600 dpi resolution, which translates into razor sharp text and vibrant colors. Perfect for demanding, high-volume office environments, Toshiba's newest offerings can function as a fully integrated networked color printing solution or a stand-alone color copier. Multifunction Productivity Features Toshiba realizes that in today's connected world, many companies are looking for business solutions that transform old work practices and increase productivity. By adding an optional controller, the FC15i and FC22i become multifunctional devices that can print, copy and scan documents all with the touch of a button, or in this case, the click of a mouse, enabling users to print directly from their desktops over the network. Toshiba's FCi Series is engineered to support a dual controller system from Electronics for Imaging (EFI). The low cost solution is the embedded Fiery¨ X3e, while those looking for more robust printing capabilities (for large-sized files) would be more suited to the Fiery¨ Z4 external unit. Both offer network printing, TWAIN scanning capabilities and ColorWise and WebTool software for color adjustment and job management functions. Versatile Equipment Options The Toshiba Modular Design Concept allows users to tailor a system that meets their office's individual needs. Optional equipment includes an Automatic Duplexing Unit that creates two-sided originals to economize paper usage, a Reversing Automatic Document Feeder (RADF) that inverts two-sided originals for copying in duplex formats and a 20-Bin Stapling Sorter with 50-sheet capacity for jobs that require multiple inserted pages with single positioning stapling. Users can expand the machine's paper capacity, up to a maximum of 3,950-sheets, by adding two optional 600-sheet cassettes and a 1,500-sheet Large Capacity Feeder for extremely long paper runs. A 50-Sheet Stack Feed Smart Bypass is standard equipment and handles jobs with varying paper sizes and thickness. The FC15i and FC22i accepts up to 110-pound index-sized paper stock and can easily feed overhead projector film from a standard cassette or bypass feeder to create color transparencies. User Friendly Design A bright Touch Screen Control Panel lets users easily adjust the hue, saturation, color balance, and sharpness right from the copier. Intelligent Auto Color Selection automatically determines if an original document is color or black and white and defaults to the appropriate mode, saving on toner consumption and producing darker blacks. A One Touch Color adjustment feature allows users to easily adjust the color shades to their satisfaction and Mono Color Copying gives one the ability to print a document in one of ten highlight colors. A Relationship You Can Trust Another important consideration when purchasing a color copier is selecting a manufacturer you can trust to provide reliable maintenance and high quality service. Toshiba America Business Solutions provides extensive training to its network of Authorized Toshiba Dealers and recently won InformationWeek's Innovation 100 award for implementing a state-of-the-art web-based dealer communication training system.
