Press release from the issuing company

Pittsburgh, PA (June 6, 2001) Van Dyk Business Systems has been chosen as the official provider of office technology to the Pittsburgh Pirates and has outfitted the team's entire operation with state-of-the-art Toshiba copier, printer technology as the team undertakes its first new season at its brand new home, PNC Park. "Toshiba's digital copier technology is everywhere at PNC Park-from down in the clubhouse to upstairs in the executive offices," said Vic Gregovits, Vice President of Marketing and Broadcasting for the Pirates. Since Opening Day, the machines have been working overtime as the Pirates' press office has prepared thousands of pages of press materials to be distributed to the media at each game. "When you think of Major League Baseball, you don't realize that there is a business side to the operation that must run efficiently if the team is going to be successful. That's why it was so important for us to upgrade our office technology," said Gregovits, who added that Van Dyk Business Systems and Toshiba were a perfect choice. "After listening to numerous presentations from a variety of office technology companies, we felt Van Dyk Business Systems and Toshiba offered us the complete package we were looking for," Gregovits said. Shawn Madden, Vice President Sales, Van Dyk Business Systems outlined the advantages of networking the Pirates' offices with a number of digital connected copier, printer multifunctional units. He finished the presentation with what has now become a slogan for the partnership: "New technology for a new park." "We've retired the Pirates' analog copiers and added completely connected digital technology that is a model of modern efficiency," said Madden. The new equipment gives the Pirates the ability to print and fax documents from across the network, as well as take advantage of document finishing capabilities not available on the standard desktop printers they were using previously. Van Dyk Business Systems has provided the team with over 28 Toshiba copiers/printers units, including 23 eSTUDIO35 multifunctional copier/printers, four DP2570F copier/printers, two DP6570's, and one FC-22 color copier/printer. Each unit is connected to a computer network through either an embedded or external controller. "Toshiba America Business Solutions is absolutely thrilled to put our award-winning products to work for the Pittsburgh Pirates," said Rick Taylor, Senior Vice President, Sales, Marketing and Business Operations, Toshiba America Business Solutions. "Our dealers, like Van Dyk Business Systems, understand how to help their customers get the most value from office technology and deliver unparalleled customer service. This is a major reason why Toshiba enjoys the growth that it does." Van Dyk And Toshiba Get Maximum Exposure At New Ballpark Van Dyk Business Systems is now in an elite class of Pirate supporters. One of the Park's two main entrances has been officially named the Van Dyk Business Systems Left Field Rotunda. Over one million fans are expected this season to enter PNC Park in downtown Pittsburgh through this entrance. Inside the Van Dyk Business Systems Left Field Rotunda, a special kiosk will be placed to give fans an opportunity to print out a daily game line-up, as well as a team roster, using Toshiba equipment. "As the official provider of office products to the Pirates we feel this partnership will give us exposure to literally millions of potential customers for Toshiba and its office products technology," said Leonard Lutes, President and CEO, Van Dyk Business Systems. A 17-year-old veteran of the office products industry, Van Dyk Business Systems will be a familiar presence at PNC Park, as they have contracted to provide service and consumables to the Pirates for the next five years, as well as upgrades and maintenance on all current equipment. In fact, Van Dyk Business Systems' staff came out to cheer the Pirates in their Season Opener against the Cincinnati Reds.
