Held June 17-23 in Cannes, the forty-eighth Cannes International Advertising Festival hosts a series of events to showcase award-winning campaigns spanning web, print and broadcast media and is attended by nearly 9,000 worldwide delegates from the advertising and allied industries. The event celebrates the industry's finest creativity in all major media outlets. "For the second consecutive year, we are pleased that Adobe has been able to drive creative excellence through its sponsorship of the Young Creatives Competition," said Romain Hatchuel, managing director of the Cannes International Advertising Festival. Since 1995, the Cannes International Advertising Festival has hosted the Young Creatives Competition, in which pre-selected teams from 33 countries have 48 hours to create a print advertisement and an accompanying website or web banner for an international nonprofit organization. The created print ads are submitted to the Press & Poster Jury and the web designs are submitted to the Cyber Lions Jury for selection. The winning campaign is then featured in TIME Magazine. To produce their innovative web and print campaigns, the creative teams are using the Adobe¨ Web Collection software suite along with Adobe InDesign¨. The Adobe Web Collection includes Adobe GoLive¨, Adobe Illustrator¨, Adobe LiveMotionª and Adobe Photoshop¨ software, highly integrated tools that creative professionals rely upon to produce advertisements for the web and print. Adobe InDesign¨ software, a next generation page layout and design application developed specifically for professional publishing, will be used with the Adobe Collections products to create a compelling campaign. "Visually-rich content is key to creating an impactful web or print-based advertising campaign," said Dave Burkett, director of product management for Adobe Collections and Illustration products. "Adobe applications such as GoLive, LiveMotion, Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign are essential advertising content creation tools. We're pleased to be the exclusive software provider for the Cannes 2001 Young Creatives Competition and look forward to the positive results this program will yield."
