May 24, 2001 Lynnwood, Washington . . . ScenicSoft has just released TrapWise 3.2, the latest version of the industry’s best selling stand-alone trapping application. TrapWise 3.2 delivers improved support for in-RIP color separations, including full control over color mapping and overprinting. "The sophisticated new color handling offers exciting new possibilities for users of composite workflows, allowing them to take full advantage of the in-RIP separation capabilities provided by current generations of PostScript and PDF RIPs," said Paul Verwilt, TrapWise Product Marketing Manager. Additionally, support for downsampling of image data dramatically improves preview and trapping performance on files with high-resolution images. "The big performance improvements, as well as the nearly 50 user requests and issues that have been addressed, make this the best release of TrapWise yet," said Verwilt. These improvements in TrapWise 3.2 build on the improvements that were added in TrapWise 3.1. TrapWise 3.1 added enhanced compatibility with PDF and additional DTP applications, JPEG file support, control over the "treat ink as vector" feature, and support for USB and virtual memory, as well as performance enhancements for complex files. In addition, TrapWise 3.1 added a fully integrated Adobe PostScript 3 RIP. TrapWise 3.2 and TrapWise Remote 3.2 (sold separately) are available for both Macintosh and Windows NT platforms. Also new to the TrapWise 3.x releases is the "one hardware key fits all" iKey USB solution, enabling users who work on both platforms to operate interchangeably with the same hardware key and license. ADB hardware keys for Macintosh and SentinelSuperPro hardware keys for Windows are also still available. TrapWise 3.2 for NT includes Color Central Lite, a scaled-down version of ScenicSoft’s Color Central OPI and print management server.
