John Brandon Joins Apple as Vice President of the Americas and Asia Pacific

CUPERTINO, California-June 6, 2001-Apple(r) today announced that John Brandon has joined the Company as vice president of the Americas and Asia Pacific. Brandon will lead Apple's sales for the U.S., Canada, South America and Asia Pacific, excluding education and Apple's retail stores. "John's impressive track record shows his ability to significantly grow market share and provide excellent leadership to his teams," said Tim Cook, Apple's senior vice president of Worldwide Sales and Operations. "We are excited to have him as a member of our management team." Brandon joins Apple from Academic Systems Corporation (ASC), where he served as president and chief executive officer. Under his leadership, ASC became the leading supplier of technology-based content to the higher education market. He also spent ten years at Adobe Systems, Inc., helping to create their application software business, and serving as vice president and general manager of North America from 1994 to 1997. He received his bachelor of arts degree from the University of California at Davis.
