CDXC Announces the Creative Control Center, Solution for Creatives

Press release from the issuing company

ST. PAUL, MN, CDXC Corporation, a provider of digital asset management technologies, today announced the introduction of the Creative Control Center, an ASP service offering designed to serve the builders of large digital files, both object and video. The Creative Control Center is primarily intended to serve the advertising, design and publishing communities who are the creators of products (i.e. magazines, advertising) that are heavily dependent on digital technology. It offers a low-cost alternative to traditional, low-technology solutions for expensive, high-technology problems. "Today, every piece of brand advertising, for example, is made up of digital components; every 30 second commercial, every photograph, logo, design element and copy block is a digital file", said James Jensen, founder and CEO of CDXC. "And, for those elements to be efficiently reused and re-purposed, the files need to be managed properly. What's key is easily finding them, converting them to a usable format and transporting them. That is the primary purpose of the Creative Control Center." "Our market research found that an overwhelming percentage of these companies were storing their digital assets haphazardly on disks in a drawer‚ or on computer hard drives with very little organization. And worse, the transport method was to put a specific file on a disk and ship it via overnight express because the files are too large to transport by e-mail or over a company's network. It's a strange mixture of the digital and analog world." The Creative Control Center ASP offers, in addition to a digital asset management capability, online digital storage, video asset management, scheduled data delivery, remote printing and proofing services, a packaging design and production tool, and an interactive kiosk solution, all products growing in demand within the creative community. Apple's authorized resellers will be an important sales channel for the Creative Control Center. "Managing digital files is growing in importance within the creative community," said Keith Geck, Vice President of Channel Sales at Apple Computer, Inc. "We're thrilled that our resellers will now be able to offer CDXC's comprehensive digital asset management solution to the creative community." The Creative Control Center ASP will be offered on a per-user basis, allowing both small and large users easy access to its services. "The Creative Control Center represents a win/win/win scenario for Apple resellers," said Brad DeSent, President of Microaid, an authorized Apple Reseller in Northbrook, IL. "It's a win for Apple Computer to have an ASP offering, a win for customers to have the option to procure value-added services from a source they trust, and it's a win for resellers to be able to integrate not only the Creative Control Center services, but also the resulting recurring revenue it promises into their business model." The CDXC Creative Control Center has also joined forces with Qwest Communications, a global leader in broadband Internet-based communications. With one of the largest, most technologically advanced networks in the world, Qwest is powering the exchange of multimedia content - images, data and voice. Qwest will provide both the broadband network and the data hosting capabilities through their CyberCenters.(sm) In addition, the Creative Control Center has a strategic partnership with IKON Office Solutions, an industry leader in new office technologies imaging and digital networking, outsourcing and facilities management, and systems integration and technical education. The Creative Control Center will offer advantageous access to IKON's Internet based printing, products and services. The Creative Control Center will also be fully integrated into Digital Express online print service for IKON's customers. The Creative Control Center's training, service, and call-center support will be handled by Analysts International, a premier information technology services company with offices in 45 cities in North America and the United Kingdom.
