Printmaster QM 46 Gets New Add-on for Small Formats

Press release from the issuing company

(05/16/01) The Heidelberg Printmaster QM 46 is now even more versatile with its new add-on for small formats. Using the minimum format of 10 x 10 cm, printers can now also print labels and C6 envelopes in landscape format. Until now, for example, popular wine labels were below the minimum format, with sizes of 13 x 11 cm and 11 x 10 cm. Processing C6 envelopes in landscape format enables printers to print them with repeating motifs. This means they can decide, depending on the subject, whether the envelope should be processed in landscape or portrait format. The add-on for small formats can be fitted and removed in seconds. The known smooth and reliable sheet travel of this series is naturally the same with the new device for small formats. The Printmaster QM 46 is highly flexible, featuring a large format range stretching from business cards to posters, support for a whole raft of printing stock thicknesses ranging from 0.04 mm to 0.3 mm, and add-ons for numbering and perforating. Since October 1994, the Printmaster QM 46 has established itself with great success on the market, and the shipment of Heidelberg's 8,000th QM46 at the end of April 2001 bears witness to this. The Printmaster QM 46 doesn't just enable small commercial printers to keep pace with their customers' constantly growing demands. Large printshops too appreciate the QM 46 as essential equipment for a profit center, allowing them to serve both small and large customers. Label printers, printshops in wine-producing areas and envelope printers will particularly appreciate the small-format add-on. Small is big, and it's getting bigger. The market however demands ever higher quality in ever shorter time. Seamless job changes, as supported by the Printmaster QM 46, guarantee a tangible lead over competitors. Heidelberg also offers the right solution for quick printers - with the Quicksetter 46 imagesetter, a flexible and fast prepress product, and appropriate finishing equipment, the Printmaster QM 46 can be integrated easily into a fully-coordinated workflow.
