E-quotes now available from manroland

Press release from the issuing company

(September 11, 2008) manroland announced today it is offering for the first time online price quotes for its ROLAND 50 and ROLAND 200 presses through the company's web site.  Printers can review information about the small format presses and receive a reply directly to their email.  The link can be found at www.manroland.us.

"This is just another example of how we are challenging the conventional thinking about sales and service to customers," said Vince Lapinski, manroland CEO.  "The technology is available to get the process started, so why not make it easier for people to get information from us?  It's a smarter way to do business and you will find it everywhere inside the new manroland."

The ROLAND 50 and ROLAND 200 are two dynamic small format presses that give printers a competitive edge in the marketplace.  Part of manroland's Value-Added Print strategy, the ROLAND 50 was introduced three months ago at drupa and is the first small press to deliver both large format capability and design.

The ROLAND 50 has double-sized print cylinders and transferters - unique since this feature is usually available only in medium and large format presses -  which allows for contact-free sheet travel with no marking.  With a maximum sheet size of 370 mm x 525 mm (14.26" x 20.7"), it offers exceptional register stability and precision color control, and an optional highpile delivery is available up to a maximum pile height of 700 mm (27.6").  Capable of producing 13,000 sph, the ROLAND 50 shortens makeready time with automatic plateloading (EPL   ergo-nomic plateloading), full automatic blanket wash devices, and special coated, easy to clean ink fountains.

Efficiency and flexibility best describes the ROLAND 200.  The 4-color press occupies the same space as a very small format press with a maximum sheet size of 520 mm by 740 mm (20.5" x 29.1"), but delivers twice the output.  It features a Remote Control Inking color control system to reduce makeready times, and manroland's ColorPilot, a smart color control system, maintains highly consistent printing quality over the length of a job run.  The ROLAND 200 also delivers up to 13,000 sph at the thickest substrate in its class.
