Impresse Shuts Down, Details Scarce

Press release from the issuing company

4/25/01 - (WhatTheyThink.com) Just months after promoting their new offering, the Marketing Resource Management (MRM) solution, Impresse has decided to shut down. Calls to their corporate office confirm the action with a message so stating. Also, calls placed to their technical support area were unanswered with the "emergency help" option disconnected. A source previously employed at the company did not confirm the action and would only say they have strict arrangements not to discuss the event. Attempts to reach numerous executives at Impresse were unsuccessful. Attempts to reach their PR firm of record, Wilson McHenry Company, were also not helpful. Chip Dehnert, with Wilson McHenry, said he could not comment as they were let go after the launch of the MRM solution was complete. Calls placed to their lead investors - Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Benchmark Capital and Atlas Venture were not returned as of press time. However, contacts at the firms said more details will be forthcoming. The company announced General Motors, Merrill Lynch and Gutenberg On Line (a subsidiary of DDB Europe) among their list of clients in January. Impresse was founded in 1997. Their goal was to develop and deliver business-to-business solutions to harness the power of enterprise collaboration. The MRM solution was to provide visibility and control over the marketing resources, including creative execution, spending, and results. Impresse claimed that clients using the Impresse solution could react faster to market changes and maintain brand consistency across various mediums.
