WAM!NET Debuts Upgraded Render-On-Demand Service at NAB Show

LAS VEGAS - National Association of Broadcasters Convention - (April 23, 2001) - WAM!NET Inc., a provider of global information technology and digital media services, announced today WAM!NET Render On Demand (ROD!) version 1.8. An enhanced version of its outsourced rendering service for professional digital content creators, WAM!NET ROD! provides customers with a seamless extension of their 3D animation facility. In addition to increasing exponentially the workload capability of large and small operations, WAM!NET ROD! will include enhanced support for industry-leading rendering software - Alias|Wavefront's Maya and Pixar's RenderMan - including a complete integration of Maya-to-RenderMan (MtoR) into the WAM!NET ROD! Plug-in. WAM!NET ROD! also will provide enhanced support for Alias|Wavefront Studio, the leading 3D software for industrial design and automotive styling, and bring to the Industrial Design and Automotive markets the ability to send jobs either as a series of frames or as a single frame that is split into tiles for much faster rendering. Based on numerous service enhancements and economies of scale, WAM!NET also has significantly lowered its WAM!NET ROD! pricing. The service's new hourly rendering prices will be, on average, less than half of the published rates of one year ago.
