FileFlow Announces 1000 FastSend Subscriptions in Q1, Makes Offer to VIO Customers

Press release from the issuing company

Milford, MA - April 18, 2001 FileFlow, Inc. - the developer of the world's fastest and most secure delivery and storage systems for digital image workflows across the Internet - has announced they've exceeded their goal of 1,000 FastSend users by the end of the first quarter. This number does not reflect the added subscriptions anticipated through their recently announced affiliation with Sir Speedy Printing franchises, which should add several hundred more users to FileFlow's customer base. FastSend is an Internet-enabled service that allows users to quickly transfer large, complex files even over low-bandwidth lines. Typically, FastSend can transmit a 25-megabyte TIFF in less than three minutes over a 56K connection. Broadband access isn't necessary, which makes the service especially attractive to users while separating it from competitors. "We're extremely pleased that the publishing and photographic industries have recognized FastSend's value and have embraced the technology so quickly," said Nils-Johan Pedersen, FileFlow's President and CEO. As if to punctuate the point, FileFlow's announcement is in direct contrast to a recent decision by industry peer VIO to suspend operations worldwide. "One of the major differences between FastSend and some of the other options on the market, is that we don't rely on proprietary networks or special hardware in order to gain our speed advan- tage," said Ken Freedman, Executive Vice-President of FileFlow. "Proprietary access, special routers, and dedicated networks may increase file transfer speed to a point, but they also increase overhead, reduce profits and in the end are self-limiting." Freedman also announced a "VIO Customer Special" designed to help VIO users transition their service to FastSend. "We'd like to make it as painless as possible for these subscribers, so we're waiving our normal set-up fee of $595 and reducing the subscription cost to $50 per month for the first three months. This will give them an opportunity to continue with their day-to-day business without an interruption in service." Interested VIO customers can find out more about the special by sending an email to [email protected], or calling toll free, 877-879-9909 xt 201.
