A.B. Dick Revs Up For Gutenberg Festival

Press release from the issuing company

CHICAGO, IL. 4/12/01 Three consecutive years of impressive sales growth makes this year's Gutenberg Festival a very attractive venue on the A.B.Dick Company trade show schedule. A.B.Dick (booth #623) will push the envelope again by offering digital and offset equip-ment that many western region customers will see for the first time during the May 17-19 show at the Long Beach Convention Center. A.B.Dick will be displaying their hot selling Digital PlateMaster CTP line with both the DPM2340 and new DPM2508 devices at Gutenberg. Other products making their West Coast debuts are the ScanMaster digital scanning solution; deSign U. integrated wide format printing system; 9995A-ICS offset press featuring semi-automatic plate loading and ink control system; PowerPC 34 twin-tower press, and SpineMaster bookletmaker. They join an impressive equipment roster that includes the A.B.Dick Colour digital press, the Multi 4610K offset press, and a full display of A.B.Dick Supplies products. "We have been very pleased with the response and sales performance at Gutenberg the last several years," said Scott MacKenzie, Director of Product Marketing for A.B.Dick. "This is definitely a show where people come to buy. Recently, these shows have been fun for us due to the many new products we have introduced. We have been listening to our customers' needs to increase productivity and make products easier to learn and operate, and have done so while providing quality output." Two products that sold very well last year have been upgraded in time for this year's show. The award winning DPM line is well represented by the DPM2340. It will be operational at Gutenberg in tandem with the ScanMaster digital scanning solution, which provides off-the-glass capabilities and much more. The DPM line was extended in January with the addition of the DPM2508, a larger device for the 20-inch market that begins installations in June. This unit incorporates optional in-line punching. Orders for the 9995 two-color offset press were brisk a year ago, and A.B.Dick believes significant interest will be accorded the semi-automatic 9995A-ICS with ink control system. A high quality, two-color digital plate compatible press, it features a semi-automatic plate changer with a maximum sheet size of 13.3" x 17.7 and print speed of 10,000 impressions per hour. It also dramatically reduces plate-changing time to less than two minutes. A.B.Dick Company is a leading worldwide supplier to the graphic arts and printing industry, manufacturing and marketing equipment and supplies for all stages of document creation -- prepress, press and post-press -- as well as continuing service and support.
