SmarTeam and Oce-USA, Partner to Deliver Product Collaboration

Press release from the issuing company

BEVERLY, Mass., April 2, 2001 - Smart Solutions, a Dassault Systèmes (NASDAQ:DASTY) company and its Americas subsidiary, SmarTeam Inc., today announced formation of a partnership with Oce-USA, Inc., whereby the two companies will integrate the Oce Engineering Exec® suite of enterprise print management solutions, with SmarTeam's collaborative product commerce (CPC) offerings. The integration will provide customers with the ability to track, manage, archive and print a full range of product development information over networks and the Internet. Additionally, the resulting ability to share information enterprise-wide within an organization and throughout its extended enterprise via the Web will save customers substantial time and expense. SmarTeam and Oce-USA, Inc. will be demonstrating the new capabilities at the CATIA Operator's Exchange (COE) meeting, taking place this week in Anaheim, Calif. Avichay Nissenbaum, vice president of product marketing for Smart Solutions, said, "The SmarTeam integration with Oce Engineering Exec software is a quick and easy field installation, and will provide existing SmarTeam customers with seamless printing support for the significant base of legacy drawings, blueprints, aperture cards and other existing product designs that are in non-electronic format at most manufacturing firms. Once scanned, this legacy data becomes an integral part of the CPC system, as though it had been created in an electronic format. SmarTeam manages the storage and management of legacy and proprietary information, in multi-CAD environments, and is the only CPC solution to currently provide this benefit. The partnership with Oce-USA, Inc. will allow our customers to manage, print and plot any document from any source." "Today as a CAA V5 partner, Oce Engineering Exec software offers CATIA users enterprise print management capabilities. Our partnership with SmarTeam further extends these benefits into the CPC marketplace and really delivers on the promise of an efficient, networked enterprise," states Ron Butterman, marketing director of software for the Oce Wide Format Printing Systems business unit. "In addition, since this integration can be done in the field, existing Oce Engineering Exec software and SmarTeam users can benefit immediately from this partnership. Our customers can now extend their capabilities into the rapidly emerging CPC market".
